Learning & Development Policy

1. Learning & Development Policy Statement

We are committed to delivering high-quality, safe, and effective learning standards that empower our workforce and learners. We recognize that learning is a continuous, multi-faceted process essential for navigating emerging challenges in the health, safety, and environmental (HSE)
sectors.
● Develop existing abilities and skills while acquiring new competencies to meet organizational and industry needs.
● Widen the knowledge base of learners, enabling them to transition effectively into new roles and responsibilities.
● Provide a supportive, inclusive learning culture for individual aspirants and corporate clients alike.
● Ensuring the learner’s needs are prioritized at every stage of the educational journey.

2. Purpose & Scope

This policy applies to all learning programs including institutional programs and corporate training conducted at client locations.

Scope of Application:
● Target Audience: Individual learners seeking certification and corporate entities requiring workforce development.
● Modes of Delivery: Classroom (face-to-face), Virtual Learning, and Blended Learning programs.
● Jurisdiction: This policy governs all trainers, staff, and learners associated.

3. Principles of Learning & Development

We adopt a learner-centric approach ,our L&D framework is built upon the following pillars:

3.1 Clarity and Expectation

● We ensure all learners understand what is expected of them and what they can expect from Spark Edutech regarding support, timescales, and commitment.
● Course details shall be transparent, accurate, and devoid of misleading claims.

3.2 Engaging Learning Environment

● We strive to create a learning environment that is engaging, safe, and encourages interaction appropriate for the course and mode of delivery.
● For face-to-face delivery, we ensure facilities meet high standards regarding health, safety, lighting, and comfort.
● For virtual delivery, we utilize platforms that support active participation and collaboration.

3.3 Inclusivity and Support

● We utilize inclusive learning techniques to cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
● Special attention and reasonable adjustments are provided to vulnerable groups or those
with specific requirements, such as specially abled individuals.

4. Learning Delivery Framework

4.1 Trainer Competence and Authorization

● Learning programs are conducted only by suitable, skilled, and competent trainers.
● Tutors are qualified, knowledgeable, and engaging, possessing the necessary subject matter expertise and teaching qualifications.
● Spark Edutech monitors tutor performance to ensure quality and consistency in delivery.

4.2 Learning Resources

● We provide accurate course materials and continually update them to map to the latest syllabus and industry standards.
● Our quality management system ensures regular review of materials to prevent copyright infringement and ensure relevance.

4.3 IT and Infrastructure

● Spark Edutech ensures necessary IT infrastructure is in place, both within the organization and for corporate learning, to carry out training effectively.
● For digital learning, we ensure the platform allows for resources that reinforce understanding, such as quizzes and forums.

5. Assessment & Evaluation

Assessments are conducted with strict adherence to integrity and fairness.
● Formative Assessment: Tutors provide structured feedback to participants on their progress to aid self-development and career progression. This includes mock examinations and constructive feedback.
● Summative Assessment: We assess learners through formal evaluations to verify competence.
● Self-Assessment: We encourage learners to assess themselves and engage in peer assessment to deepen  understanding.

6. Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

Spark Edutech is committed to the continuous improvement of its learning provision.
● Review: We regularly review course delivery and learner feedback, taking action as necessary to enhance the learning experience.
● Performance Measurement: Reports from delegates, trainers, observers, and boards are gathered to improvise fu ture training strategies.
● Evaluation: We monitor required outcomes versus actual outcomes to identify gaps and implement corrective measures.

7. Malpractice Policy

Spark Edutech maintains a zero-tolerance approach to malpractice to protect the integrity of our qualifications.

● Definition: Malpractice includes any unethical behavior or actions that compromise the integrity of the training and assessment process, such as cheating, falsification of documents, or dishonesty.
● Reporting: We maintain a confidential reporting mechanism for learners and staff to report suspected malpractice.
● Consequences: Depending on severity, consequences may include:
○ Nullification of affected assessments.
○ Suspension or expulsion from the training program.
○ Formal reporting to the accreditation body and regulatory bodies.
● Prevention: We implement robust security measures during assessments and provide regular training on ethical practices.

8. Plagiarism Policy

● Definition: Plagiarism is the act of using someone else’s work or ideas without proper acknowledgment, presenting them as one’s own.
● Policy: Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. All submissions must be the original work of the learner.
● Consequences: Detected plagiarism will result in immediate review, potential nullification of work, and disciplinary measures aligned with accreditation body guidelines.
● Prevention: Learners are educated on what constitutes plagiarism and may be required to sign declarations of originality.

9. Conflict of Interest Policy

● Definition: A conflict of interest occurs when an  individual’s personal interest might interfere with their professional duties (e.g. relationships with learners).

● Policy: All trainers and staff must declare potential conflicts of interest before engaging in training activities.

● Management: Staff with declared conflicts may be reassigned to prevent bias. Regular audits are conducted to ensure transparency.

● Enforcement: Failure to disclose a conflict will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

10. Roles & Responsibilities

10.1 Management

● Provide equal opportunities to employees and participants for learning and development.
● Ensure necessary resources and infrastructure are available.
● Authorize workers for continuous professional development opportunities.

10.2 Trainers / Tutors

● Review learning material as necessary to maintain up-to-date knowledge.
● Transfer new skills and knowledge to the workplace in an appropriate way.
● Provide structured feedback and support to learners.

10.3 Learners

● Proactively seek opportunities to upgrade knowledge, skills, and behavior.
● Complete learning sessions thoroughly and fulfill assessments within the stipulated time.
● Adhere to policies regarding malpractice and plagiarism.

11. Record Keeping & Data Security

● As part of our quality assurance process and mandatory regulations from awarding boards, all documents are securely maintained for a minimum of 12 months under stipulated conditions.
● Records include learner attendance, assessment results, and investigation outcomes regarding malpractice.
● When no longer required, documents will be disposed of securely.

12. L&D Model: The Learning Cycle

Spark Edutech follows a systematic L & D model to ensure quality outcomes.

Governing law

This Learning and Development Policy , including its interpretation, implementation, enforcement, and any rights, obligations, or liabilities arising herefrom, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Subject to the foregoing, any dispute, difference, claim, or question whatsoever arising out of or in connection with this Policy, including any matter relating to its validity, applicability, scope, or effect, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Kollam, Kerala.
